ENCE booked a spot in the DreamHack Open Winter 2018 semi-finals with a 2-0 victory over G2 (16-11 on Mirage, 16-13 on Overpass). Starting out as CTs on their opponents' map pick, Mirage, G2 got off to a 2-0 lead after winning the first pistol with doubles from Lucas "Lucky" Chastang and Alexandre "bodyy" Pianaro. ENCE responded well and eventually equalized the score, but they could not follow that up as the former 3DMAX player found a triple-kill with an AWP. The Finnish side, who had defeated OpTic in the Group B elimination match, went on a five-round winning streak and seemed to be in control of the map, but G2 did not throw in the towel, securing three of the next five rounds to reduce the deficit to 6-9 by half-time. Despite bagging a pair of rounds to kick off the second half, G2 simply could not get through the stern ENCE defence from that moment, with the Finns stringing five rounds together to go up 14-8. Lucky still found a lifeline for his team with a quad-kill in the 23rd round, but Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen's men remained calm and collected to take the lead in the series with a 16-11 victory. ![]() Overpass kicked off with G2 winning their third pistol of the series and three more rounds to take control of proceedings as Terrorists. ENCE replied with two consecutive rounds on the back of a triple and a quad-kill from Aleksi "allu" Jalli and Aleksib, respectively, but their opponents were still able to secure a fifth round. ENCE immediately reset G2's economy in the next round, however, and eventually took the lead at 6-5, forcing Richard "shox" Papillon to call a tactical pause. Still, that was not enough to stop Jani "Aerial" Jussila's troops, who lost just one more round to bag a 9-6 half-time lead. ENCE further added to their lead after winning the second pistol and the subsequent anti-eco, 11-6. G2 responded well and did not let their opponents capitalize on any round win to eventually level up the score at 13-13, but that was when allu stepped up to the plate, leading the way for his team with three multi-kills to close out the series, 2-0.
